Yet , Another Laurel!

Session 08-09 proved a year of victories and triumphs for both Garrison Academy for girls and boys . The outcoming results of Matriculation and O'Levels , as we all know , have been outstanding . The high achievers are Bilal Nagra (10th) with 985 marks and Farhan Munir (C3) with 11 A’s from Garrison Academy for boys and Mehreen Usman (10th) with 982 marks and Noor-un-Nisa (C3) with 9 A’s from Garrison Academy for girls. On this basis and some other factors aswell , another laurel has been given to the academy. This year , as well as 2007 , Garrison Academy has been labelled as one of the best schools in Lahore .The toil of faculty members and the students is , ofcourse , evident from these achievements. The academy has once again proved to be an institution where a broad diversity of knowledge , skills , values and attitudes is essential. GO GARRISON!!

GARRISON @ Networking!

Garrison, like other institutions, has always felt the need to connect to its students. The best, and most suitable way - for a modern and renowned institute - was through the 21st Century networking phenomenon!

Garrison first set sail through the email giant, Yahoo! and set-up its own accounts. Then began the social networking craze, and we saw the rise of many communties related to Garrison - some way, or the other - on the google owned Orkut network, which became quite popular as well, touching upto more than a 1,000 members!

Then in 2006, A-Levels students from garrison, came up with Garrison's own forum, known as the GAforum. But unfortunately, it wasn't able to get much attention and went dead!

In 2007, LGES set-up its own website, which gave GAB and GAG separate pages to promote themselves. But they also, due to lack of eye candy, and user friendliness, didn't get much traffic.

In 2008, our fortunes certainly changed. We all witnessed the worldwide network-migration, from Orkut to Facebook, and that's where Garrison striked next! The Facebook page, has recently became quite popular among senior students, and with the help of students from GAG and GAB, we understood the traditional psychology of students, and made our mark on FB! The activity on the Fan-page has been quite phenomenal, thanks to all of you.

Its 2009, many of you might have not noticed, but its Garrison's 25th anniversary this year. Certain events might be planned, to commemorate the institutes, great achievements. As for networking, welcome to Garrison's own Blog!
